Construction on permanent Central Park restrooms begins this week

-

Construction work on the new permanent public restroom facility at Central Park will begin this week, with the restrooms slated to be open for use by Memorial Day weekend of this year.

city of naperville squareThe public restrooms, which were approved by the City Council at the March 5, 2013, City Council meeting, will accommodate the many concert goers at the Naperville Community Concert Center as well as those who use the adjoining park and playground and, due to their proximity to the downtown area, the general public. Currently the only available public facility in this area is a mobile restroom structure placed in Central Park during the summer concert season.

Once complete, the permanent restroom facility will feature capacity for three people in both the men’s and women’s sections of the structure. The restrooms will be located on the west side of Central Park Road just south of the YMCA and adjacent and south of the pedestrian walkway that links the Naperville Community Concert Center to Washington Street.

Throughout construction, access to Central Park Road will remain available. In addition, the pedestrian walkway located next to the YMCA will be available for use.
