Crampton’s performance “Out of My Dreams” begins at 6PM Sun., April 14, in North Central College’s Madden Theatre at the Fine Arts Center, 171 E. Chicago Ave. Tickets are $35 and $30; call the North Central College Box Office at 630-637-SHOW (7469) or visit northcentralcollege.edu/showtix.

The New York Times says Crampton is “sensual, indigenous right and mellifluously wonderful.” A New York City musical theatre veteran, Crampton is best known for her leading stage roles in productions of “My Fair Lady,” “Carousel,” “Camelot,” “The Phantom of the Opera,” “Nine” and “The Fantasticks.”

Crampton has regularly performed at the Houston Theatre Under the Stars where she worked with acclaimed composer and lyricist Jerry Herman. She portrayed Irene in “Hello Dolly” (opposite Leslie Uggams) and Sarah Brown in “Guys and Dolls” (opposite Richard Kind and Tony Award-winner Christiane Hoff).

In addition to her work in musical theatre, Crampton enjoys acclaim for her concert performances. Jose Carreras of the Three Tenors chose her to sing as guest soloist with him before a sold-out audience in Radio City Music Hall. She has made several appearances singing for former President George H.W. Bush and his wife Barbara. Crampton has performed for The Royal Crown Prince of Luxembourg and the U.S. ambassador to Luxembourg. She was also guest artist at composer Irving Berlin’s home in Manhattan.

Crampton also has performed with such actors as Ron Holgate, Kevin Klein, Charles Busch, Swoozie Kurtz and Eddie Bracken. Her TV appearances include CBS’s “The Good Wife.”

Crampton’s first solo CD, “Unusual Way,” was released in 2011 and features such Broadway standards as “I Could Have Danced All Night” (“My Fair Lady”), “All I Ask of You” (“The Phantom of the Opera”) and “Diamonds are a Girl’s Best Friend” (“Gentlemen Prefer Blondes”). In addition to her solo CD, Crampton has been featured on other recordings, including “All the Love I have-songs of Andrew Lloyd Webber” with National Symphony Orchestra (Jay Records), “Celebrate Broadway” and “Phantom” (RCA), among others.
