Dreaming of Thin Mints? It’s not too late to buy Girl Scout Cookies!
Naperville residents who missed the opportunity to order Girl Scout Cookies from their local Girl Scout can still buy the delicious Thin Mints and Tagalongs at a location close to them.
In fact, Girl Scouts are setting up booths throughout Naperville all during March. Folks who were in downtown Naperville this weekend could buy the seasonal brand near Washington Corners at Chicago Ave. and at stations along Jefferson Ave. in front of Anderson’s Bookshop. Other spots have been conveniently located at the entrance of many supermarkets since mid-February.
Customers can go to www.girlscoutcookies.org and enter their zip code to find the location nearest them.
Tech savvy cookie lovers can download Girl Scouts’ free Cookie Locator™ mobile application for iPhone® and Android™. The free Cookie Locator app lets customers find cookies on sale close to their home or office by tapping into the phone’s GPS or using a local zip code, city or state. To download the app, customers can call **GSCOOKIES (**4722665437) from their mobile phones. Customers have eight varieties of cookies from which to choose: The Savannah Smile, Thank U Berry Munch, Samoas, Thin Mints, Trefoils, Tagalongs, Do-si-does, and Dulce de Leche.
The Girl Scout Cookie Program is about more than purchasing boxes of the annual treat. It’s about the valuable skills a girl gains from participating including: goal setting, decision making, money management, people skills and business ethics. Girls and adults interested in joining or becoming volunteers should visit www.girlscoutsgcnwi.org. Girls set cookie goals to support their chosen activities for the year, fund community service and leadership projects, attend summer camp, travel to destinations near and far and provide events for girls in their community. Profits from the sale of each $4 box of cookies help the council offer programs and outdoor experiences, provide support for nearly 84,000 girls, and offer financial assistance to girls from economically disadvantages areas. All profits are used locally.
