KidsMatter in Naperville will present its second annual Ignite the Nite Benefit Showcase Concert at Wentz Concert Hall at North Central College on Wednesday Evening, April 17. The program will showcase the finest music, dance and theatrical talents of high school students from Naperville School Districts 203 and 204 and Benet Academy. The Gala Concert will be highlighted by a performance by Naperville singer and American Idol finalist Gina Glocksen, who is returning by popular demand.
The benefit concert also will honor Mayor A. George Pradel and the entire Pradel family for contributions to the welfare of Naperville kids and families.
“In our second year, we want to emphasize the critical role that families play in the lives of young people. As parents, foster parents and grandparents, the Mayor and Pat Pradel have modeled love, respect, discipline and hope,” says KidsMatter Executive Director IdaLynn Wenhold.
“As Officer Friendly and a police officer, George Pradel personally watched over our youth and families and ensured that they were safe and well protected in our community. As Mayor, he has worked to build a community that offers children and families unrivaled opportunities, and his family has supported his efforts all the way.”
“Our organization is all about celebrating kids and families and enabling them to realize the enormous possibilities available to them. This concert is a natural extension of those efforts, and will help raise critical funds for our parent and student empowerment programs, Asset-education and annual events including the Job Fair, Volunteer Fair and Skater’s Picnic,” Wenhold noted in a press release.
The concert will be preceded by a VIP benefit reception. Tickets will be available March 1 at the VIP level for the reception and A level seating, as well as general adult and student tickets .
