Humane Society receives grant for new cat condos

-

The Naperville Area Humane Society (NAHS) was awarded a second grant from the ASPCA to purchase new cat condos for the shelter’s feline intake room. The new condos are much easier to clean, which helps to decrease the risk of illness and stress to the cats. In addition, they help NAHS provide optimum animal care, giving each cat the appropriate amount of space.

cat_condos“The ASPCA’s generosity in providing the grant for our new cat condos has dramatically improved the lives of the cats while in our care. The condos provide a more appropriate living space for the cats which, in turn, helps to alleviate the stress of shelter life,” said Michelle Lenz, NAHS animal care manager. “Because the cats’ stress level is decreased, they adjust to the shelter more quickly, and their length of stay in the shelter is reduced.”

NAHS has over 20 cats of varying colors, sizes and ages waiting for homes. For more information or to meet the cats, please visit the shelter during open hours. For more adoption information, please visit www.NapervilleAreaHumaneSociety.org.

Naperville Area Humane Society is a private, not-for-profit organization founded in 1979 to develop and implement animal welfare programs and services within Naperville and surrounding communities. NAHS’ goal is to protect animals and prevent animal suffering.
