The Government Finance Officers Association of the U. S. and Canada (GFOA) recently awarded the Naperville Park District the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting for its 2011 Comprehensive Annual Financial Report.

“We are pleased to receive this recognition from a respected national organization, confirming our best practices in maintaining the financial health of the Park District and communicating clearly with the community,” said Finance Director Sue Stanish.

The Certificate for Excellence in Financial Reporting is awarded by an impartial panel “to meet the high standards of the program including demonstrating a constructive ‘spirit of full disclosure’ to clearly communicate its financial story,” said representatives from the GFOA in a Feb. 6, 2013 press release.

In an effort to make its financial reporting even more accessible to a wider audience, the Naperville Park District recently released a new, eye-catching “Budget Snapshot” available on its website at www.napervilleparks.org/budgetsnapshot13. Those who wish to review the entire 2011, 2012, or 2013 Fiscal Year Budget or the 2011 Comprehensive Annual Financial Report may find these documents at www.napervilleparks.org under “About Us/Finances.”

Additionally, the NCTV video of the Feb. 9, 2013 State of the Park District address, which reviews key financial data along with goals and accomplishments, can be viewed on the District’s website at www.napervilleparks.org/photosandvideos/videos.
