Feed the Need! / 4:00 PM – 9:00 PM / More than 2,000 volunteers from nine area churches will join forces February 15-17 for Feed the Need! The three-day event will take place at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Naperville, allowing local volunteers an opportunity to pack nutritional meals for undernourished children from around the world. Naperville Area Homeowners Confederation Meeting / 8-10AM / Join the Naperville Area Homeowners Confederation on Saturday, February 16, for our monthly general meeting. This month they will take a deeper look at the FY2014 City of Naperville Budget and learn what it will mean to the homeowners.
The Association has invited City Staff to join the meeting in rooms B&C on the lower level of the Naperville Municipal Center to share their plans and the numbers. Coffee and networking sponsored by Naperville Cares is at 8AM. The meeting begins at 8:30AM and we will adjourn by 10AM.
KidsMatter Ignite the Nite Auditions / 1-5PM / Kids-Matter Auditions are set for second annual KidsMatter “Ignite the Night” with Naperville’s own American Idol, Gina Glocksen, and area student performers at Wentz Concert Hall at North Central College on Wednesday, April 17. The program will showcase the finest music, dance, comedy, magic and theatrical talents of junior high and high school students from Naperville School Districts 203 and 204 and Benet Academy. The Concert will be highlighted by singer and American Idol finalist Gina Glocksen.
Auditions will be held for music, dance and theatre acts on Saturday, February 16 at the School of Performing Arts at Fifth Avenue Station in Naperville from 1-4PM. Groups are invited to audition a piece of up to three minutes in length and will need to provide their own accompaniment. Only performance-ready pieces will be considered. Those unable to do a live audition may submit a videotaped audition by 5PM on February 17, following all audition instructions.
Kidz Kabaret Celebrates Dr. Seuss Birthday / noon and 3PM / The Cat In The Hat, Horton the Elephant, Gertrude, Mayzie and a host of Dr. Seuss characters will come alive on the Center Stage Theater stage during the month of February in “Seussical Junior.” In honor of Dr. Seuss’s birthday these talented actors will entertain audiences young and old every Saturday in February beginning February 2, 2013. Shows will be performed at 12PM and 3PM. The characters will be available after every show for pictures and autographs.
