The Naperville Art League (NAL) is extending the deadline for this year’s 9th Annual Public Art Competition, “Completely Different.” Entries will be accepted until 4PM on Saturday, March 2. Adults, college and high school students can submit pieces interpreting the theme in most medias.
Awards will be given, with $350 for Best of Show. Details on media, size and other requirements are available from the Naperville Art League by calling (630) 355-2530 or at www.napervilleartleague.com.
The works will be exhibited at the Naperville Fine Art Center and Gallery, operated by Naperville Art League at 508 N. Center St. from Friday, March 9 through Sunday, March 17 with an awards reception on Sunday, March 20 from 2-4PM.
“We are beginning to receive a number of entries for the Competition. It is always exciting to see the artists’ interpretation of the theme and how it applies to them, personally,” said Debbie Venezia, executive director of the Naperville Art League. “While our monthly exhibits showcase our members’ work, we realize there are a lot of other talented people in the area. We’re eager to offer everyone the opportunity to display their work in a gallery.”
Entries will be accepted at the Naperville Fine Art Center and Gallery during regular gallery hours, Wednesdays through Fridays noon – 4PM and Saturdays from 10AM – 4PM. The entry form must be completed and affixed to the piece along with an artist’s statement of 100 words or less explaining how the entry relates to the theme, “Completely different.” There is a nominal fee for entering.
