At a packed Aurelio’s Springbrook Square, Naperville notables, as well as fundraiser attendees, belted out the tunes to raise money for local families in financial crisis. At the end of the night, the the recent event raised more than $2,000 to benefit Naperville CARES.
Attended by well over 150 people, Karaoke for a Cause participants were encouraged to donate a tip to sing, or be nominated by friends to sing, their favorite Karaoke tune. Local singers also joined in and promoted the Karaoke.
Noteworthy singers included CLTV News Anchor Dolly McCarthy who sang “These Boots Are Made for Walking” and Health and Fitness Columnist and Author Nicki Anderson who performed Pink’s “Glitter in the Air.” Other folks who grabbed the mike included Downtown Charlie Brown of the Downtown Charlie Brown Blues Band; Shane Beard, President of Fast Signs; Mike Rossi, Neuqua Valley High School Teacher and Coach; and Mike Evans, Naperville Area Chamber of Commerce President and CEO.
