Last month, I had the privilege of attending the National Exchange MidWinter Conference in Greensboro, NC. Except for the snow and the Justin Bieber Concert, it was a truly wonderful experience! Exchangites from all over the United States were present to learn more about Exchange and how to get the word out to others.
“Club Building” is a huge goal of the National Exchange. While in Greensboro, Wayne Robinson, former NBA player, gave a very moving motivational speech to the group on Team Work and Team Building. In other sessions, we discussed how to motivate our members, retain members and find new members.
Another part of the Conference was about the National Exchange Club Foundation. The NEC Foundation was established in 1979 to help advance and fund the National Exchange Club’s Programs of Service, and its national project,
the prevention of child abuse. The NEC Foundation, through its network of nearly 90 child abuse prevention centers, has helped more than 1.8 million children and over 750,000 families break the cycle of child abuse.
Naperville Exchange Club members will be going to Greensboro this summer immediately after Ribfest for the National Conference on July 10–13, 2013. My visit to Greensboro was just a small preview of what will be at the National Convention.
If you would like more information on Exchange, contact me at EmyTrotz@gmail.com. You are also welcome to stop by for lunch at Hugo’s on the first & third Fridays at 11:45AM in the Frog Pond Room to learn more about us.
Now is the time to consider membership as we are giving a 90-day free trial until April 15. Please join me in Exchange.
