For the next few weeks, members of the Ron Buonauro Memorial Foundation will swing into gift giving as a result of the success of the 2012 Annual Ronnie B Classic Golf Outing. Recently, friends of the Buonauro family and Little Friends gathered at Cafe Buonaro’s for the first check presentation of 2013.
Thanks to funds raised, Little Friends received $6,000. In the near future, St. Patrick’s Residence will receive $8,000; MS, $3,000; Central DuPage, $4,000; YMCA, $1,000 and Edward Foundation, $5,000.The gift to the Edward Foundation is directed to the Edward Cancer Center in support of its free mammogram program for low income women who do not have insurance to cover the cost of the procedure.
The 4th Annual Ronnie B. Classic will be held in August 2013 at Springbrook Golf Course. Details for will be available soon.
The Buonauro family established the charity in 2008 in memory of Ron Buonauro, an avid golfer and owner of Café Buonaro’s who died of cancer on Oct. 14, 2008. Gifts are made annually to Ron’s favorite charities for which he often hosted fundraising dinners and auctions in his restaurant.
