A world of whimsy, wonder and adventure will be created at this year’s Family Shelter Service Gala themed “The Magic of Wonderland,” and taking place at The Abbington, 3S 002 Route 53, Glen Ellyn, from 6:30 to 11:30PM on Friday, April 19. The annual event is the largest fundraiser of the year for Family Shelter Service, which offers help and hope to individuals affected by domestic violence. At the Gala, guests will enter a mysterious world of unexpected twists and turns where the perpetually late rabbit, the Mad Hatter and the Queen of Hearts will be portrayed by whimsical costumed characters. The enchanting experience will be completed by the illusions and tricks of Wheaton magician Jeannette Andrews who will leave guests enthralled by her on-stage performance and strolling magic tricks.
The ticket price of $150 includes dinner, music and dancing (tables of 10 available). Guests will have the opportunity to bid on a wide variety of trips, sports tickets, assorted gift baskets and other great items during the silent and live auctions. In addition, the evening’s Grand Raffle winner will be able to choose from one of three luxury trips.
