Hotel Arista was recently awarded a pair of bronze Adrian Awards from the Hospitality Sales and Marketing Association International (HSMAI) for two media campaigns, “Effortless” and “Making of An Icon Video.”

The Adrian Awards honor outstanding achievements in advertising, public relations and digital marketing within the travel industry. Past winners from 2011 include nationally recognized travel campaigns such as the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority’s “Life is Short, Summer is Shorter” and “Get Lost (in Montana)” from the Montana Office of Tourism. Adrian Awards are determined by HSMAI, an international organization comprised of sales and marketing professionals representing all segments of hospitality, travel and tourism.

Creating a campaign that showcased Hotel Arista’s core differentiators to their various guests was a feat tackled by Maclyn Group, a full service advertising and marketing agency located in Lisle.
“We wanted to showcase Hotel Arista’s luxury and how it differentiates them from big hotel chains, so we incorporated an old Hollywood glamour theme,” Ann Moss, creative director at Maclyn Group. “The bold black and white print advertising supplemented with short videos that reinforced Hotel Arista’s main messages of Iconic, Effortless, Unscripted and Maverick played a key role in the success of the campaigns within the marketplace.”
Brett Thomas, marketing manager with Calamos Family Partners, said, “There was an opportunity to emphasize our locally owned, independent hotel status. We were looking to create a campaign that celebrated the ‘cool’ in being ‘an original’–the spontaneity, creativity and innovation that comes from being completely free of corporate directives designed and implemented from afar.”
