Grace Church will host panel to discuss college graduate debt on Jan. 12

-

“Where did the money go? ” is a frequently asked question these days when graduates prepare to leave college.

College graduates bear an average student loan debt of $26,700 and credit card debt of $2,800.

These days, entering college freshmen need to plan for their finances as carefully as their dorm rooms.

To help make sense of the financial maze, the Grace United Methodist Church Foundation is offering a free panel discussion, “Where Did the Money Go?,” for 16-25-year-olds from 10AM to noon on Sat., Jan. 12. The discussion will be held in Grace Church’s Fellowship Hall.

Panelists include Director of Planned Giving for Chicago’s United Methodist Foundation Janet Boryk, President of Naperville Bank and Trust Tom Miers, North Central College Chaplain Rev. Lynn Pries, and Wealth Watchers International Founder and President Alice Wood.

Panelists will offer tips and resources for high school students planning to attend college, current college students, and college graduates. The panelists also will answer any questions from the audience of  attendees.

To register online, visit www.peopleofgrace.org or call (630) 355-1748.

Grace United Methodist Church is located at 300 E. Gartner Road in Naperville.
