Kids in grades 1-5 can enjoy their day off in the new School’s Day Out programs at Naper Settlement, 523 S. Webster St., Naperville. School’s Day Out – Fizzy, Gooey, Soaring Science
During Fizzy, Gooey, Soaring Science on Monday, Jan. 21, kids will take science to the next level with experiments. Participants can become a kitchen chemist and learn to make ice cream, explore how things float and how static electricity makes hair stand on end—turn a film canister into a rocket and even make slime to take home.
School’s Day Out – Breaking the Code
On Monday, Feb. 18, participants will discover the hidden symbols on currency, go undercover to learn the secrets used by spies throughout history and write their own secret messages using codes and invisible ink.
School’s Day Out – Every Day is Earth Day
On Friday, March 1, kids will learn about the environment and how they can reduce, reuse and recycle ordinary items into unique works of art, useful objects and home décor. They will also discover how the museum’s rain gardens help the environment and will test creations that can clean water.
