The Holidays are just around the corner so my next dining experience took my mom and me to the heart of downtown Naperville’s shopping where my mom, who pays for my meals or I could not write this fun column, can do her last-minute Christmas shopping and I can eat some delicious food!
My choice for dinner tonight was Hugo’s Frog Bar and Fish House which is located in the Main Street Promenade and is known as one of the best seafood restaurants in Naperville. Many people may think that Hugo’s is not for kids, but they have a menu that any kid would love. My dining adventure began with the waitress bringing a platter of the fresh steaks and fishes for the night. She described each item with the portion size and where they came from. For the appetizers I chose one cheeseburger slider and one tilapia slider. Each was cooked to perfection and mouth-watering good.
For the next course I had a cup of the cream of chicken and rice soup. This was also an excellent choice. Very meaty and creamy an amazing combination.
For my main course I chose the Alaskan King crab. It was delicious and steamed to perfection. I drizzled it with lemon and I dipped it in the warm melted butter. The crab legs come split in the kitchen so there is no messy cracking to deal with.
As we were leaving, we noticed that there was a family with three young children celebrating one of their birthdays. Hugo’s is a place that all ages can enjoy. The food and service are excellent! Please check them out over the holiday season and tell them Jack sent you!
