To augment the popular on-site CPR, Automated External Defibrillator (AED) and First Aid Classes, the Naperville Fire Department’s Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Training team has announced it now has the capability of training business employees or community group members in CPR and First Aid at the location of the organization’s choice. The offsite courses are being offered at a group rate and can accommodate up to 20 participants.
In addition to the ability to teach CPR and First Aid classes offsite, CPR, First Aid and AED classes taught by American Heart Association-certified firefighters at the Naperville Electric Service Center, 1392 Aurora Ave., will continue in 2013.
Through its efforts, the Fire Department aims to increase both awareness and readiness in the community of effective CPR and AED use. This readiness plays a vital role in survival for heart attack victims.
“During this season, we tend to re-focus on priorities in life such as family and friends,” Fire Chief Mark Puknaitis said. “In an emergency, being trained in CPR and AED could be the difference that saves a family member, friend or even a stranger’s life. I encourage people to take the time to get certified in these life-saving techniques and help our community become even more prepared to respond in the event of a health crisis.”
4-Hour Classes are $45 per person for Naperville Residents & Businesses
Certification and recertification classes for residents and healthcare providers are available. The four-hour classes are $45 per person for residents and Naperville businesses and $55 for non-residents. Upon completion of the course, participants receive a certification card valid for two years.
