On Dec. 3, 2012, Governor Quinn signed Senate Bill 3338, effective immediately, which changes the filing deadline for petitions for the April 9. 2013, Consolidated Election from 5PM Mon., Dec. 24 to 5PM Wed., Dec. 26.
As a result of the filing date change, the last day to file objections to petitions has also been moved. Objections must be filed within five (5) business days after the last date to file petitions. Because the school district administration building is not open for seven (7) or more hours on New Year’s Eve, Mon., Dec. 31, 2012, the last date for filing objections to petitions will be 3:30PM Fri., Jan. 4.
The Naperville District 203 Public Administration Building, 203 West Hillside Road, Naperville, will be open according to the following schedule during the winter break: Mon., Dec. 24 – closed all day; Tues., Dec. 25 – closed all day.
Note that offices will be open Wed., Dec. 26 from 7:30AM – 3:30PM for business; petitions until 5PM.
Hours for the remainder of the winter break are Thurs., Dec. 27 – open 7:30AM – 3:30PM; Fri., Dec. 28 – open 7:30AM – 3:30PM; Mon., Dec. 31 – closed all day; Tues., Jan. 1 – closed all day; Wed., Jan. 2 – open 7:30AM – 3:30PM; Thurs., Jan. 3 – open 7:30AM – 3:30PM; Fri., Jan. 4 – open 7:30AM – 3:30PM.
Four seats on the seven-member District 203 Board of Education will be filled as a result of the Consolidated Election to be held on April 9, 2013.
Candidate packets, including nominating petition forms, are available and may be picked up in the office of Board Secretary Ann Bell in the District 203 Administrative Center, 203 W. Hillside Road, Naperville, on any business day from 8AM to 4:30PM.
A candidate’s nominating papers must be filed in the same office no earlier than 8AM on Mon., Dec. 17, 2012 and no later than 5PM Wed., Dec. 26. Additional details are available on the school district web site at www.naperville203.org.
