As we get closer to the holidays, especially Christmas, things start to change. Suddenly it is a good thing to call a halt to the many activities we chase. Whether work driven or just daily living, there is a great deal of “stuff” going on. Matter of fact, this almost crazy pursuit of “getting it going and then watching it disappear” followed by moving onto four more projects is accepted as part of our routine.
But, as Christmas approaches, there is something inside all of us, no matter what our faith might be, that gently applies the brakes and allows us to, once again, become aware of the really important things in life. The magic of getting close to Christmas is that these important things become stronger and more meaningful. The magic is also that these important things, once clearly seen, become precious.
I am pleased that the Confederation places great value on each of our member Homeowner Associations and the residents who make up those associations; together with all of the people calling the Naperville area home. Our officers and Board proudly call these good people NEIGHBORS. We fundamentally appreciate the interaction we enjoy citywide. Serving our neighbors and working together to improve our way of life through professional relationships with elected officials and City Staff are very meaningful to me and to the NAHC Board.
So please, let the magic of this holiday season carry over into the New Year. May we all look upon each other in a greatly needed kindly manner, so that we will be able to discern what is really important to bring peace into our lives.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year fellow neighbors! May you have good health and peace in your soul as we approach 2013!
