BrightSide Theatre kicks off its second season with Stephen Sondheim’s 7-time Tony Award winning musical comedy Company, at 8PM Thursday, November 29.
Company follows Bobby, a single man unable to commit to a steady relationship, the five couples who are his best friends and his three on-again off-again girlfriends. Company is an honest, witty, sophisticated and contemporary look at relationships. At his 35th birthday celebration, Bobby contemplates his single status and searches for answers about commitment from his poignant, funny, yet slightly envious married friends. Company features an energetic score containing many of Sondheim’s best known songs including “Another Hundred People”, “Side by Side”, “The Ladies Who Lunch” and “Being Alive”.
“For over five years now I’ve been waiting to find the right time and place to direct Company and I’m so excited to bring this production to our audience,“ said artistic director Jeffrey Cass.
Company will be performed at Meiley-Swallow Hall on the campus of North Central College, 31 S. Ellsworth, in Naperville and runs Thursday, November 29 to Sunday, December 9. Thursday, Friday, and Saturday performances are at 8PM with a Sunday matinee at 3PM.
Tickets are $24, $20 for students and seniors and group tickets are $18 for groups of ten or more. To order tickets call the North Central College box office at 630-637-SHOW (7469) or visit http://finearts.northcentralcollege.edu/event/brightside-theatre-presents-company.
