Naperville Parks Foundation receives donation check from Whole Foods Market

-

Deb Kwiatt, Marketing and Community Relations Specialist from Whole Foods Market in Naperville, presented a ceremonial check for $2,510.60 to Jim Healy, president of the Naperville Parks Foundation. The presentation was given during the Nov. 8, 2012, meeting of the Naperville Park District Board of Commissioners.

The check represented the total amount donated by Whole Foods customers to the Naperville Parks Foundation during the three-month fundraiser in which customers could choose to donate their .10 rebate for reusable bags to the Foundation. The money from this One Dime at a Time  fundraiser was designated to assist with the Naperville Park District’s new Eco Explorers program, which offers a variety of nature programs for youth of all ages.

The Naperville Parks Foundation was formed in 2011 as an advocate for parks and open spaces. The Foundation accepts charitable donations to support this mission as well as the Naperville Park District’s scholarship program and special projects.
