Kids Corner — Some new things at my old favorite

-

A recent dining experience brought me to a family-friendly Italian restaurant, Café Buonaro’s, located in 5th Avenue Station at 300 E. 5th Ave.

This is one of my mom’s and my favorite restaurants. It was opened by the late Ronnie B, his wife Regina Buonauro and their two daughters in 1990.

One of the Buonauro’s family members is always at the restaurant to greet you and your family upon arriving. The wait staff here is also fantastic! They make you feel like you are part of the Buonauro family and are coming into their house for a meal.

The menu is amazing! There is definitely a variety for all ages and appetites. Whether pasta, fish or meat, the portions are large and you definitely are able to share an entrée and the wait staff does not mind!

Mamma B. said they’ve added some new items to the lunch menu. They are now serving four new salads, deli sandwiches and flatbread pizzas! Tina also told me the exciting news that they’re getting ready to do some renovations to the bar area and the host station. They’ve even expanded the eating area so you can even eat outside the restaurant by the fountain.

I’ve been coming here for so long that it was a tough choice for me to pick my favorites. I finally narrowed it down for an appetizer—the toasted ravioli that are bite-size raviolis toasted to perfection and served with their famous red sauce.

For the entrée, I choose the house specialty Chicken Marley, a lightly battered thin chicken breast with a buttery sauce. I also selected a side of the other specialty, baked spaghetti. Each entrée comes with a side of pasta and a bowl of salad for the table. For dessert, try the delicious homemade cannoli. You cannot go wrong!

I highly recommend Café B’s! Please tell them Jack sent you! Happy eating!
