Volunteers wanted for holiday activities

Teens and adults needed for Santa House and other events: Sign Up Night Tuesday, Nov. 13

Volunteers 12 years of age and older who are interested in helping at Santa House are invited to attend the Naperville Park District’s 2012 Holiday Volunteer Open House and Sign Up Night on Tuesday, Nov 13.

The event will take place from 5:30 to 7:30PM at the Alfred Rubin Riverwalk Community Center, Room 206, located at 305 W. Jackson Ave. Prospective volunteers are welcome to come at any time during the 2-hour time-frame,  however, sign-ups for specific times and dates to volunteer at Santa House and other activities will occur on a first-come, first-served basis.

“Both individuals and groups are welcome to volunteer at Santa House,” said Volunteer Coordinator Lynnette Hoole. “We are looking for teens and adults to help greet guests and act as Santa’s helpers,” she explained. Santa House runs from Dec. 1 through Dec. 16 on weekends and some evenings, and then daily from Dec. 17-23.

Volunteers also are needed for other Park District holiday events in December, including Holiday Magic, Candy Cane Lane, and Gingerbread House Decorating. Registration for volunteering at these events will open online on December 1. Signups for Santa House volunteers will not begin until the November 13 Open House.
