North Central College celebrates Homecoming Oct. 25-28

-

Among the many memorable moments in the 2012 Jaycees Labor Day Parade were reminders of things to come. Nearly 100 entries often depicted upcoming events such as booksignings, theater productions, Municipal Band Concerts and, oh yes, upcoming elections.

During the Jaycees Labor Day Parade, as crowds cheered, Wilde, seated with his wife, Benna, gave a big wave with a big shout, “This is my last parade!”

North Central College’s entry prompted the reminder about Homecoming 2012.  The weekend will include Outstanding Alumni Awards, Athletic Hall of Fame, Class of 1962 50-Year Club induction ceremony, Milestone Reunions and a time to note that Dr. Hal Wilde will be retiring as President of North Central College at the end of 2012.  Thank you, Dr. Wilde!

Homecoming events include

  • Kickoff Concert – Bernadette Peters / 8PM Thurs., Oct. 25, at Wentz Concert Hall.
  • Homecoming Parade / 12:45PM Sat., Oct. 27 / South on Brainard St. to Championship Plaza.
  • Riverwalk Gateway Dedication / 1:15PM Sat., Oct. 27 at Riverwalk Gateway North of Benedetti-Wehrli Stadium (455 S. Brainard St.).
  • Football Game vs. Illinois Wesleyan University / 2PM Sat., Oct. 27 at Benedetti-Wehrli Stadium.
