Wednesday

Naperville Woman’s Club Monthly Meeting / 11:30-1PM / Naperville Woman’s Club has arranged for Jennifer Bridge to  present “Chicago’s Northwestern Sanitary Fairs of 1863 and 1865″ Jennifer R. Bridge is the Curator of Exhibits and Interpretation at Naper Settlement. She previously worked as a research assistant for exhibits and special projects at Chicago History Museum. Dr. Bridge earned her Ph.D. in American and Public History from Loyola University Chicago in 2009; her dissertation was entitled “Tourist Attractions, Souvenirs, and Civil War Memory in Chicago, 1861-1915.” She lives with her family in Oak Park, Illinois. The public is welcome to attend meetings held at the NWC Clubhouse in the old stone church located  at 14 S. Washington Ave.

Wente Vineyards Wine Dinner at CityGate Grille / 6:30PM / CityGate Grille will host a wine dinner with Wente Vineyards, the longest continuously operating American winery.  6 Courses with wine pairings is $90 pp, plus tax and gratuity / RSVP to CityGate Grille at (630) 718-1010.  CityGate Grille is located at CityGate Centre in the Calamos Investments Building, Rt. 59 and I88 in Naperville.

Thursday

Baggallini Trunk Show at Anderson’s Two–Doors East / 4-8PM / Anderson’s Two–Doors East will be hosting a trunk show displaying the latest selections of Baggallini  totes, carry-alls, messenger bags, purses, and all the latest Baggallini styles and offerings. Refreshments and wine will be offered. There will have a special drawing for a Baggallini wallet. Anderson’s Two–Doors East is located in downtown Naperville at 111 W. Jefferson.

Annual Fire Department Citzens Appreciate Public Safety (CAPS) Awards Night / 6:30-9PM / Meson Sabika, 1025 Aurora Ave. The 2012 Fire Department CAPS event will be family oriented and include a showcase of Fire and Police Department vehicles, equipment and personnel outside of Meson Sabika, followed by a dinner and awards presentation.

A limited number of tickets will be sold to the public for $20 each and can be purchased at either the Fire Department Administration building, 1380 Aurora Ave., or Police Department, 1350 Aurora Ave.

Friday

Operation Kidsafe Free Child Safety Event in Naperville / 12-6PM / Parents can attend this event and at no charge and get a lifetime record of their child’s digital fingerprints and a form that is ready to hand to law enforcement in an emergency. Parents will also get valuable safety tips. Operation Kidsafe uses the latest equipment like the FBI and Secret Service. No special information is needed, as there is no data basing. Parents take home the only record of the visit. Event location and times are: Village Buick-GMC at 1585 W. Kennedy Kids Fall Clean Up at VFW / 8:30AM-Noon / Students from Kennedy Junior High School, a.k.a. The Kennedy Kids, will arrive at the Judd Kendall VFW Post 3873 for annual  fall cleanup.  Adult volunteers are welcome to help supervise the various teams.
