City website availability to be intermittent for the next few days

NAPERVILLE, Ill. — The City of Naperville informs residents and interested parties that the City’s website www.naperville.il.us, streaming media archives and e-mail services will be intermittently unavailable during the next few days. The City encourages people that have business with the City to call (630) 420-6111 or visit the Naperville Municipal Center, 400 S. Eagle St., during normal business hours of 8AM to 5PM Monday through Friday.

“On Tuesday, October 2, the City’s anti-virus software identified and quarantined a virus on our computer network,” City Manager Doug Krieger said. “As a precautionary measure, and at the recommendation of our cyber security consultant, we are bringing many of our systems down to ensure full system integrity. We appreciate your patience during this time.”

The City apologizes for the temporary inconvenience. Information about the status of the City’s website and ability to communicate with City staff via e-mail will be made available through the City’s other communication outlets, including government access TV station WCNC (Ch.6-WOW, Ch.10-Comcast, Ch.99-AT&T) and WPFP 1610AM. Residents and other interested parties can also visit the City’s Facebook page at www.facebook.com/NapervilleIL and Twitter account at www.twitter.com/NapervilleIL.
