DuPage PADS announced record-breaking finish

-

Open Letter to the Community about a Record-Breaking Finish!

DuPage PADS is proud to announce that this year’s 8th Annual Run for Home, held on Saturday, September 8, was a huge success, with the largest participation in its 8-year history (an estimated 1,000 in attendance) and by raising more than $100,000 for DuPage PADS’ vital housing programs and support services.

DuPage PADS would like to thank the sponsors, donors, congregations, volunteers, runners and walkers who made these achievements possible! Funds raised from the Run for Home will help provide critical support services to individuals and families who are homeless in DuPage County work toward self sufficiency. DuPage PADS believes everyone should have a place to call “home.”  Open 365 days a year, the agency’s solution to ending homelessness is providing housing, coupled with support services, including education and employment.

DuPage PADS would also like to thank the individual and team fundraisers who combined, raised more than $10,000 for DuPage PADS. Among these generous fundraisers was Aidan Simler, just 6 years old. This young philanthropist raised more than $350 to support the mission to end homelessness.

It is heart-warming to see a young generation with compassion for those we serve. Many individuals aren’t aware that there are homeless children in our very own community and Aidan is making a difference. With a 39 percent increase in the number of children we serve over last year, every effort is greatly appreciated. We appreciate Aidan’s generous spirit for DuPage PADS.

Together with all of this support, DuPage PADS is now one step closer to ending homelessness in DuPage County.

Thank you!

Janelle Barcelona, Director of Development for DuPage PADS.
