Naperville, Illinois – One of the region’s most established law firms – founded in DuPage County in 1915, has announced the addition of Patti A. Bernhard to the firm now known as Dommermuth, Cobine, West, Gensler, Philipchuck, Corrigan and Bernhardt Ltd., or DCWG.
In addition, the names of current partners, Kevin M. Gensler, John F. Philipchuck and Charles J. Corrigan have been added to the firm’s name. The new name follows a long tradition of the nearly 100-year old firm linking its people to its business model – a firm rooted in service to the community and strong, lasting relationships. Bernhard joins a team of individuals that have been serving the Chicagoland area for the last three decades—Craig Cobine, Kathleen West, Kevin Gensler, John Philipchuck, and Charles Corrigan.
According to Kevin Gensler, President & Managing Partner, the firm has long been known as the Dommermuth law firm. “We’ll probably use the nickname DCWG to make it easier for everyone.”
Gensler also said that Bernhardt’s becoming a named partner at DCWG reinforces the firm’s rich heritage.
“I’ve seen more change in the last ten years than I’ve seen in all the 28 years I’ve been with the firm. We are creating what we believe makes a great firm – its people,” noted Gensler. “Patti’s experience in land use and real estate, complement our already established areas of concentration and enhance the firm’s opportunity to better serve its clients.”
Gensler also recognizes the changing times that every business has confronted. “Our attorneys have used their talents to change areas of concentration in our firm to keep up with the changes in the marketplace. For instance, I’m doing much the same as I always have, but now I’m representing more banks.”
DCWG attorneys are active members in their respective communities, serving in leadership positions within several organizations including; North Central College, Naperville Development Partnership, Little Friends, West Suburban Irish, Rotary Clubs of Naperville, and the Naperville Jaycees.
