The Naperville Convention & Visitor’s Bureau (CVB) first worked with Ryder Cup Travel Services in 2009 while serving as the host community for the LPGA’s Solheim Cup, held at Rich Harvest Farms in Sugar Grove.

According to Christine Jeffries, President of the Naperville Development Partnership & Convention and Visitor’s Bureau, executives were so impressed with both the work of the Naperville CVB and staff of the occupied hotels that they chose once again to come to the Naperville community for what is known as the State of Illinois’ largest sporting event in history, the 2012 Ryder Cup.

Accounting for 800 room blocks and 4,000 total room nights, Naperville’s participation  is one of the largest accommodation partnerships associated with the 2012 Ryder Cup.

“This is a testament not only to the five host hotels, but to the community as a whole,” noted Jeffries.

“Our graciousness in welcoming such attractions and tourism as the Chicago Fire MLS games, Solheim Cup attendees, and now the Ryder Cup enthusiasts has put us on the map as a premier destination for Chicagoland special events and tourism,” she said.

Jeffries, along with the entire CVB staff will be onsite at host hotels throughout the week of September 23 in order to assist with guest services including providing information for guests on where to shop, dine and play.

“This means a lot for our local economy, and we want to be there to be sure Ryder Cup guests know what this great city has to offer,” said Jeffries.

Part of the CVB’s initiative is Dine Around Naperville – which represents the 260 dining options within the city.  Dine Around Naperville focuses on highlighting the many great dining options for visitors and residents alike.

This week gives Naperville a chance to showcase its amenities and extend its Midwestern hospitality with a warm welcome to international travelers and the media who could return for business meetings or other events.
