Municipal surplus vehicle and equipment auction: September 29

NAPERVILLE, Ill. — The City of Naperville will hold its annual surplus vehicle and equipment auction on Sat., September 29 at the Public Works Service Center, 180 Fort Hill Dr. The event is combined with the Naperville Police Department’s seized vehicle auction and the auctioning of the old Motorola radio system used by the Naperville Park District.

This event is open to the public. Viewing of all items begins at 7:30AM with the auction starting promptly at 9AM. Parking is available for patrons in the Public Works Service Center parking lot. Registration is required for this event and will begin at 7:30AM on the day of the event.

Accepted forms of payment include cash, cashier’s check or a business check accompanied by a bank letter of credit. The form is available for download on the City’s website at www.naperville.il.us/auctions.aspx. All bank letters of credit must be faxed to (630) 305-5356 or scanned and e-mailed to dobersztynt@naperville.il.us to be pre-approved by the City’s Procurement Division by noon on Fri., September 28, 2012.

Payment with a major credit card (Visa, MasterCard or Discover) will include a 3 percent processing fee. There is no buyer’s premium charged at this auction. Approximately 60 vehicles will be up for auction, including cars, pick-up trucks, sport utility vehicles, minivans, vans and other miscellaneous items. All items must be paid for and removed on auction day.
