Vibraphonist and acclaimed North Central College jazz faculty member Brad Stirtz will perform Nov. 2 in the College’s intimate Madden Theatre.
“An Evening with Jazz Vibraphonist Brad Stirtz” begins at 8PM Friday, Nov. 2, in the College’s Madden Theatre at the Fine Arts Center, 171 E. Chicago Ave.

A native of Minden, Neb., Stirtz studied at the American Conservatory of Music in Chicago, where he earned a master of music degree in percussion performance.
Stirtz has taken his career around the world with concerts in Uganda, Trinidad and across the United States. He has performed and recorded with such jazz luminaries as Ed Thigpen, Patricia Barber, Jerry Goodman, Dan Haerle and Fareed Haque, along with vocalist and fellow North Central jazz faculty member Janice Borla.
As a jazz/percussion educator, Stirtz has served on the faculties of the American Conservatory, Roosevelt University, Benedictine University, Northern Illinois University and North Central College. For more than 20 years he has been a member of the summer faculty at Birch Creek Music Academy in Door County, Wis., where he teaches jazz improvisation and playing techniques for international percussion instruments.
