NAPERVILLE, Ill. — As part of the Citizens Appreciate Public Safety (CAPS) program, Naperville’s Fire and Police Chiefs are now seeking specific examples from members of the public where Police and/or Fire Department personnel have performed exemplary acts of public service in the community.
These acts of service will be considered for recognition during the annual Fire Department CAPS Awards Night to be held from 6:30 to 9PM on Thurs., October 18 at Meson Sabika, 1025 Aurora Ave. Residents with examples they would like to share should submit a letter to the attention of either Naperville Fire Chief Mark Puknaitis, 1380 Aurora Ave., Naperville, IL 60540, or Naperville Police Chief Robert Marshall, 1350 Aurora Ave., Naperville, IL 60540.
This year’s Fire Department CAPS event will be family oriented and include a showcase of Fire and Police Department vehicles, equipment and personnel outside of Meson Sabika, followed by a dinner and awards presentation. A limited number of tickets will be sold to the public for $20 each and can be purchased at either the Fire Department Administration building, 1380 Aurora Ave., or Police Department, 1350 Aurora Ave.
The CAPS Board is comprised of residents from the Naperville community that meet to discuss and decide on specific incidents and actions accomplished throughout the year that deserve recognition by Fire and Police personnel. The Fire Department CAPS event is held in October and the Police Department event is held in May.
