Framing shop celebrates one year in new location

-

Colbert Custom Framing & Art Printing opened the door for business on Aug. 23, 2011, as usual in Naperville Plaza at Washington and Gartner, where it had been located for 24 years.

Later that afternoon, owner Kevin Colbert opened the doors to the company’s new facility in Market Meadows at 75th and Naper, and business has been thriving at the expansive, state-of-the art facility ever since.

“It’s been a great year,” said Colbert. “And we’re poised for further growth as customers continue to learn of all we have to offer in our super-center.”

The Colberts have been best known over the years as the region’s premier custom picture framers, but the company now offers much more. Their on-site warehouse allows customers to choose in-stock materials at discounted prices as well as shop the remnant room where ready-made frames are sold at bargain prices.

In addition, do-it-yourselfers now can buy lengths of moulding and mat board at clearance prices.

The “crown jewel” of the new facility, noted Sue Colbert, is the printing studio where customers can see their own photos and artwork transformed into art for their walls. Photoshop services are available for digital photo restoration and manipulation as well as collages and other creative designs. Photoshop computers are available for customer use and Photoshop workshops are offered monthly.

An ombudsman is Scandinavian in origin dating back to Viking times; and refers to a community representative; usually acting independently on behalf of an organization, body of elected officials, or civic group. Thanks Scandinavia for inventing ombudsman.
