Crime Prevention Calendar winners to be recognized

Mayor George Pradel, and Naperville Police Chief Robert Marshall, will recognize the students whose artwork appears on the 2012-2013 Crime Prevention Calendar in the Council Chambers at 6:30PM on Mon., Oct. 1. Students will receive a special certificate of appreciation from Mayor Pradel and Chief Marshall for their participation in the Crime Prevention Calendar contest.

The 26th annual Crime Prevention Calendar was produced by the Naperville Police Department. The major sponsor of the project is the Exchange Club of Naperville. The Exchange Club sponsors many community events including Ribfest. Additionally, Naperville Junior Woman’s Club, Crime Stoppers and area schools again helped sponsor the calendar project, which is distributed free of charge to all elementary school students in Districts 203 and 204 as well as five parochial schools in Naperville.

The Crime Prevention Calendar project is a community service project that involves many facets of the community working together schools, government, the police department, and community organizations. This year approximately 28,000 calendars were produced and distributed during the first week of classes.

A limited number of calendars are available at the Police Department and City Hall.
