Watercolor artist will teach tips, techniques during six-week course at St. Thomas

-

Robert Sunyog, a member of the Nature Art League and a noted artist and illustrator, will share tips used by the pro’s in a series of art classes that will meet from 9AM – noon on six consecutive Saturdays, beginning Sept. 15, at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church.

Class size for “Watercolor Tips and Techniques” is limited to the first 12 registrants and the $70 fee for the series is a real bargain ($4 an hour!), so registration as soon as possible is encouraged.

Through the series of classes, Sunyog will help students learn to enhance and enliven their works using a variety of tips and techniques that are both easy to learn and to apply. Sunyog has taught several classes at the church in recent years and has been very well-received.

Classes, sponsored by the Celebration of the Arts ministry of St. Thomas the Apostle, will be held Sept. 15, 22 and 29; and Oct. 6, 13, and 20.

Registration forms and supply lists are available in the Gathering Area at St. Thomas. Interested individuals also may register by calling Anne Schultz at (630) 355-8980, ext. 113. Checks for $70 should be made out to St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church with “Art Class” listed on the memo line.

For more information about “Watercolor Tips and Techniques,” contact Chari Rosales, director of S.T.A.F.F.S. (St. Thomas Adult Faith Formation & Spirituality), at (630) 355-8980, ext. 138, or at crosales@stapostle.org.

Editor’s Note: Watercolor artists sometimes work from photographs such as this photo of Canadian geese making way for a duck taken along the Riverwalk, Naperville’s natural treasure in the heart of downtown Naperville. Note also never to feed wildlife.  Just as coyotes and deer, ducks and geese are wildlife.
