Dr. Rubin’s Mini Medical School was created in 2004 as a community service project.
Now beginning its 10th year, the Mini Medical School continues to offer high school students an opportunity to learn about medicine and surgery.
Its stated mission is “to provide innovative programs, hands on experiences and counseling to students and parents about the field of medicine and surgery.”
“Our programs help student decide if they want to pursue a career in medicine and if so, enable them to achieve that goal,” wrote Dr. Ira S. Rubin recently.
This year a fall Mini Medical Experience will be offered starting Sept. 30 for students in grades 9 through 12 who want to explore medicine. The winter Mini Medical School again will be a High School Students Program for advanced sophomores, juniors and seniors. It begins Jan. 20, 2013.
Applications can now be obtained online at www.MiniMedicalSchool.com.
