With more than five million records sold and five chart-topping singles, Evans is a country favorite with hits such as “Suds In The Bucket,” “A Real Fine Place To Start” and the self-penned “Born To Fly.” In 2011, Evans’ highly anticipated sixth studio album “Stronger” debuted at No. 1 for two weeks and featured the smash single “A Little Bit Stronger.”
“Stronger” is the latest addition to Evans prolific career. The Missouri native has come a long way from singing with her family’s band as a child. Her numerous accolades include the Academy of Country Music’s Top Female Vocalist honor in 2006 and the Country Music Association’s Video of the Year prize for “Born to Fly.” She also has been named one of People magazine’s “50 Most Beautiful People” and was the first country artist to appear as a contestant on ABC’s “Dancing with the Stars.”
Her hit albums include “No Place That Far,” “Restless” and “Real Fine Place.” She took a self-imposed hiatus from her singing career and concentrated on raising her three children. During her six years away from the spotlight, she married and moved to Birmingham, Ala. After the break, she quickly reclaimed her status as one of the most compelling female vocalists of her generation.
“I feel like I’m just starting my life, my career, and there’s nothing that I can’t do,” she says. “I’m definitely more confident now than I’ve ever been in my life.”
Besides singing and songwriting, Evans can add co-authoring three novels to her career. She also completed a nationwide tour with Rascal Flatts and released the single “Anywhere” in 2012.
In June, she performed the national anthem in front of a global audience prior to Game 2 of the NBA Finals in Oklahoma City.
