360 Youth Services annual dinner auction is slated for Sept. 20

-

360 Youth Services will host A Zombie Ball – A Night of Creepy Fun beginning at 5:30PM, Thurs., Sept. 20.  The annual dinner and auction will be held this year at the Abbington Banquets in Glen Ellyn.

According to event planner Dawn Portner, Special Events and Marketing Coordinator for 360 Youth Services, the pressures on today’s youth are greater than any other previous generation and the kids living in DuPage County are no exception. 360 Youth Services, a Naperville-based nonprofit agancy,  is dedicated to offering programs that provide substance abuse prevention, education, and counseling for kids struggling with issues like anxiety, depression and bullying.

“Each year over 6,000 kids directly benefit from the work of 360 Youth Services and thousands more have been positively impacted their drug and alcohol prevention programs. These kids are counting on us to help, and that’s why we are having this fundraiser,” said event Co-Chair Brenda Harter. “The auction is our biggest fundraiser of the year, and we are hoping to raise over $150,000.”

The evening will include dinner and a silent auction followed by a live auction with auctioneer Jim Miller. We are also pleased to announce that CLTV Anchor Dolly McCarthy will be the emcee for the event.

“Chairwomen Brenda Harter, Barb Juckins, Ellen Calamos and their committee have been planning the event for months and have acquired some astonishing items to be bid on,” noted Portner in a press release.

Auction items include a trip to New York to see the Rachael Ray Show; a six-night trip to London that includes a personal tour guide; a dinner for eight in your home from Sullivans Steakhouse that also includes some special “extras” for the winning bidder and their guests; and tickets to the final round of the 2013 Ryder Cup at Medinah Country Club including a round of golf.

The ticket cost is $150 per person and sponsorships are still available.

FYI: 360 Youth Services, formerly NCO Youth and Family Services,  provides life changing services to young adults, school-aged youth, and their families through substance abuse prevention and education, counseling and support groups, and housing options.  This themed auction previously was held annually in July.
