The next regularly scheduled meeting of the Riverwalk Commission will begin at 7:30AM, Wed., Aug. 8, in the Lunch Room of the Naperville Municipal Center, located at 400 S. Eagle Street.

In recent months the Riverwalk Commission has been addressing the redesign and update of a new Riverwalk brochure, maintenance challenges due to extreme temperatures and lack of rain, the North Central College Gateway, Water Street redevelopment project, Open Meetings Act training required of commissioners and more. Minutes of all past meetings are archived on the City’s Web site.
Members of the commission also were reminded that the Riverwalk Foundation again will host another free Class Act II Big Band Concert in Fredenhagen Park from 4:30-6PM on Sat., Sept. 15.
Note: The purpose of the 13-member Riverwalk Commission is to promote, encourage and guide the development and use of the Riverwalk, the linear park located in downtown Naperville. The park begins at Jefferson Avenue and follows the DuPage River to Hillside Road.
Members of the commission serve three-year terms and include the Mayor (or his designee, currently Councilman Grant Wehrli), Park District Board President (or her designee, currently Gerry Heide), Riverwalk Foundation representative (currently Jeff Havel), Millennium Carillon Foundation representative (currently Dick Galitz) , City and Park District employees and appointed interested residents.
The Commission is scheduled to meet at 7:30AM on the second Wednesday of every month.
All meetings are open to the public and provide an opportunity for citizens to address the Riverwalk Commissioners during public forum.
