Expressive artwork by Michelle Lindblom will be featured in the solo exhibit “The Journey Continues” Aug. 17 through Sept. 30 at North Central College.
“The Journey Continues” exhibit features works through which Lindblom visually responds to the environment where she lives in North Dakota.
“The imagery in my work serves as a metaphor for the various confrontations, dialogues, muses and revelations I have had on my journey so far,” she said. “The viewer is drawn in by the color, movement and texture, but ultimately, I would hope they venture in further using their own sensual interpretations.”
Born and raised in Bismarck, N.D., Lindblom earned a bachelor of arts degree in visual art at the University of New Orleans. She later established an art curriculum at St. Francis Xavier School in Wilmette and St. Athanasius School in Evanston. After completing two master’s degrees in education and in fine arts at the University of North Dakota, Lindblom became an associate professor of visual art at Bismarck State College.
Lindblom operates her MickArt Studio in downtown Bismarck. Her work has appeared in solo exhibitions throughout the United States as well as in a wide assortment of invitational and juried exhibitions internationally.
The exhibit is free and open to the public in the College’s Schoenherr Gallery at the Fine Arts Center, 171 E. Chicago Ave. An artist reception will be held from 4 to 6PM Sat., September. 29.
