For more than 160 years, framed photos have created keepsakes that last from one lifetime to the next. In this digital age, new and innovative techniques can help amateur photographers turn their favorite photos into works of art, too.
Colbert Custom Framing & Art Printing has opened the doors of its on-site art printing studio to people who are interested in learning more about Photoshop capabilities. Monthly Photoshop workshops are scheduled to equip Photoshop users of all levels to be off and running with the skills necessary to turn their own images into art.
Owner Kevin Colbert is enthusiastic about teaching the creative uses of Photoshop to amateur and ordinary photographers and artists.
“Everyone has favorite family or vacation photos that would make beautiful artwork for their home with a few Photoshop techniques, “ he explained. “Besides photographs, we can also scan artwork and reproduce it in custom sizes and custom colors. The possibilities are endless.”
The classes are generally offered the third Thursdays of the month from 6:30-8:30PM , but group appointments also are available, according to Stephanie Colbert, pictured here.
“This would make a fun girls’ night out or bridal shower activity,” said Sue Colbert. “Imagine providing a new couple with customized artwork for their home, or creating a canvas giclee that looks like an oil painting of a loved one’s favorite honeymoon or vacation spot.”
The cost for the class is $75 per person which includes an 11 x 14 canvas giclee of your Photoshopped image, printed on-site.
