Longtime viewers of daytime television soaps will have a chance to see Bill Hayes and Susan Seaforth Hayes, beloved stars Days of Our Live, when they appear next week at Anderson’s Bookshop. The couple will be promoting their new book, Trumpet, from 7-9PM, Tues., July 31, at Anderson’s Bookshop, located at 123 W. Jefferson Ave., in downtown Naperville.
Their debut novel, full of fascinating facts researched on site, is a historical romp through the theatrical world of the Regency Era. The adventures of heroine Elizabeth Trumpet, from innocence to experience, include famous characters of the time. Trumpet’s conflicts with love and fame in history’s most elegant yet brutal age mirror women’s struggles in our own turbulent times.
Hayes and Hayes enthusiastically spent their lives acting. According to the news release, their wealth of wit and experience colors every page as their fiction moves from 1803 London to Egypt, the blossoming America and beyond with heartfelt emotion and adventurous fun, reminiscent of the romantic scenes Bill and Susan love to play.
“Bill and Susan’s television fans will be ecstatic with Trumpet’s colorful cast of characters and the actors’ famous sense of humor that shines through in the story.” wrote Heather Bennett, co-owner of Decadent Publishing. Historical fiction aficionados will find the depth of research and rich characterization impressive.”
In 2005, the married couple published their joint autobiography, Like Sands Through The Hourglass.
