During the month of July, both locations of Second Chance Resale have been hosting annual “Christmas in July” promotions, times when the second-hand store gives shoppers a chance to pick up cool Christmas decorations in the heat of the summer.
According the general manager Kath Camasto, the resale shop has been accepting donations of seasonal holiday items since the first of January for the month-long sale.
“We welcome customers to be first in line for our fabulous holiday merchandise,” said Camasto, adding that “fabulous” is one of her favorite words.
Second Chance Resale Shops, arranged like department stores for a pleasant shopping environment, create an additional source of income to help Family Shelter support our mission to provide “help and hope” to victims of domestic violence in DuPage County.
The shops also serve Family Shelter clients and their families as a place to replenish their wardrobes and households with gently used items, free of charge.
Plus, Second Chance Resale Shops give customers an opportunity to save money while creating a unique personal style with home accessories, clothing, jewelry and more while supporting a good cause.
Proceeds from Second Chance Resale Shops, located in Naperville and Westmont, benefit Family Shelter Service for women and children, victims of domestic violence and abuse. Second Chance also provides Family Shelter clients a place to replenish their wardrobes and households with great items, free of charge.
Regular shopping hours are 10AM to 5PM on Mon., Wed., Fri. and Sat.; and 10AM to 8PM Tues. and Thurs.
Donations of quality household and clothing items are accepted during hours 10AM to 4PM Tues. through Sat.
Second Chance Resale Shop is a member of IndieBound Naperville, a group of independent merchants that encourages shopping locally. During the recent July meeting Camasto said when Two Left Feet went out of business, the owners gave their inventory of new shoes to Second Chance.

For one day only, Second Chance Resale in Naperville will host a 1/2-off Everything-in-the-Shop-Sale from 10AM to 5PM Sat., Aug. 4. The Naperville location is 1512 N. Naper Blvd, Suite 172, just off Odgen Ave.
Note: The Westmont shop will offer the exact same store-wide discounts on Sat., Aug. 11.
