Pete Ellman’s Big Band will play to benefit Little Friends

-

Beginning at 8PM, Tues.,  July 31, the Pete Ellman Big Band will host a fundraiser for Little Friends at Potter’s Place in downtown Naperville.

Promoted as “Good Music, Good Food, All for a Good Cause,” the Pete Ellman Big Band will perform foot-stomping jazz favorites.

Since its inception about three years ago, the Pete Ellman Big Band has been performing regularly for many good causes, including scheduling times during the school year to play with jazz ensembles and bands from area  middle schools and high schools.  After the school year begins next month, Pete Ellman, who has a day job as co-owner of Ellman’s Music Center,  said those “gigs” when the student ensembles will open the evening will be put on the calendar again.

Meanwhile, Potter’s Place is located at 29 W. Jefferson. The concert will be performed on the patio, weather permitting, until 10PM on July 31. Ellman said  a 50-50 raffle also is planned.

FYI:   Based in Naperville, Little Friends is a private, nonprofit organization serving children and adults with autism and other developmental disabilities. Founded in 1965, today Little Friends, Inc.,  serves more than 800 individuals every year throughout DuPage, Kane, Kendall, Will and western Cook counties.
