In early July, 6-year-old Luke Hasan of Naperville held “Luke’s LemonAIDE Stand” to raise money for charity.
After young Hasan overheard his parents talking about people drinking dirty water, he was not happy.
Hasan said, “I’m going to have a lemonade stand and raise a lot of money. That way they can have gallons and gallons and gallons of clean water!”
To date Hasan has raised over $2,000, through lemonade sales and online donations, to donate toward the “HeArts for Haiti – Clean Water Project” sponsored by Impact For Jesus, Naperville Women’s Club and Art for the Heart. It is a project raising money to supply water filtration systems to families in Haiti who currently do not have a clean water source.
According to Allison Hasan, more than 100 people came to his lemonade stand the day of the event and donations have come from all over the country.
Next up! Fundraiser is 3-6PM Sat., Aug. 11
