-

Coverage of Major League Championship Game

NCTV17 will be at Knoch Park on Sat., July 14 at 8PM to capture the action and excitement of the Little League Major Championship game.  Naperville Little League President Jim Petruzzi will be alongside NCTV17’s Alex Symonds in the booth to call the games and add commentary.

NCTV17 will begin airing the Major League Championship game on Sun., July 15 at 3PM. The game will air numerous times on Channel 17 and online at www.NCTV17.com; the complete weekly schedule can be found on the website as well.

The game is the culmination of this year’s Major League season involving hundreds of Naperville area players.  The taping and broadcast of the Championship Game is produced in partnership with the Naperville Little League and sponsored by Gerald Nissan Motors and the Kane County Cougars.

“The production of the City Championship Game is very popular,” said Jim Meurer, Naperville Little League Board Member. “It affords family members not residing in Naperville an opportunity to see their Little Leaguers in action, either via simultaneous streaming at NCTV17.com or by a professionally produced DVD.”

“The Little League games have become a highly anticipated NCTV17 tradition,” added NCTV17 Executive Director Liz Spencer.  “This is what community television is all about.”

The first Little League program in Naperville started in 1952. The Naperville Little League program remains dedicated to providing healthful activity for youth and the opportunity to learn lifetime skills, leadership, sportsmanship and teamwork.
