From 3-9PM Sun., Sept. 16, Dolce Amore will host “Have a Heart for Horizon,” a dinner benefit and auction to raise funds to help adults with disabilities go to summer camp. Dinner, bids for auction items, a 50/50 raffle and music will be featured to help benefit the Association of Horizon, Inc.
Horizon offers a week long summer camp experience where adults with physical disabilities team up with able-bodied volunteers for a week of recreation, learning and fun. Thanks to fundraising, the camp is available to campers and volunteers at no charge.
This year’s camp in late July will take place at Timber Pointe Outdoor Center, an Easter Seals Camp, located in Hudson, Illinois. In past years, Horizon has hosted approximately 85 adults with physical disabilities and more than 125 volunteers.
