On Friday August 24, 2012, five pink fire trucks and the 12 foot steel ribbon will be displayed at a Wellness/Fundraiser in the downtown Riverwalk area. The Naperville Park District Administration Office at 320 W. Jackson Ave. will be the location for this exciting event running from 4PM until 9PM.
This is a family-friendly event, complete with pink balloons, pink plastic fire helmets, popcorn, pink snow cones, pink cotton candy and pink lemonade. We will also have free blood pressure checks and literature on women’s health. Participants can take pictures in front of the pink fire trucks and meet firefighters in their pink firefighting gear. There will also be a DJ and bagpipers for entertainment.
Pink Heals-Naperville Guardians of the Ribbon is a non-for profit organization whose mission is to provide a national cancer awareness movement to show support of women across the country by wearing pink. This movement is supported by bringing special pink fire trucks to Naperville so that anyone affected by this terrible disease may send a message of support to those they love. People with family members/friends who are or were stricken with cancer are encouraged to leave a message of support in writing on these trucks.
All proceeds from this event will stay within the Naperville community to help with cancer research and provide financial assistance for families that may be struggling. Edward Hospital Women’s Cancer Foundation will be the recipient of these funds.
Pink Heals-Naperville Guardians of the Ribbon can be found on Facebook, Twitter and donations can be made via PayPal by going through the website www.napervillepinkheals.com.
Checks can also be mailed to: Guardians of The Ribbon Naperville IL. Chapter at 931 W. 75th St., Suite 137-240, Naperville, IL. 60565.
We hope to see you all there!
