The Naperville 14U National Baseball Team took home the championship trophy for the Triple Crown Best of the Midwest Baseball Tournament at Dupage River Park this past weekend on Sun., June 24, with six straight wins.

The coach for the Wauconda Bulldogs said, “This was the best baseball hitting team, from top to bottom, that I’ve seen in four tournaments.”
Five out of the six games for the Renegades were won by the slaughter rule, including the championship game, according to the news release from Bernadette McCarthy. The Renegades scored 71 runs in six games.
A total of 18 teams competed in the weekend tournament.
“Coaches Singer, Rektorski, and Heath couldn’t be more proud of the boys,” said McCarthy.
FYI: The Slaughter Rule (also known as the Mercy Rule) ends a sports competition early when one team has a very large insurmountable lead.
