Pause for reflection, fine art and all that jazz

-

The 10-day forecast features occasional thunderstorms, but it looks as though relief from the 90-plus-degree highs might not come until next Thursday.

Meanwhile, feel refreshed by peaceful waters during strolls along the Riverwalk, a brick path that follows the DuPage River from Jefferson Ave. to Hillside Rd.

Right now the Riverwalk is blooming beautifully with many varieties of flowers.

Afterward, pause for some refreshment at one of more than 40 eateries.  If patio dining whets your appetite, visit Quigley’s Irish Pub, Hugo’s Frog Bar, Catch 35, LaSorella or Front Street Cantina. For a cool inside, try the New Orleans-style menu at Heaven on Seven. Or if you’re looking to try something new, find Pizzeria NEO or  Q, two recent arrivals on the downtown restaurant scene.

And enjoy a tour of the fine artwork in the (Sub)Urban Art Walk and Century Walk throughout downtown Naperville. Stroll over to the Naperville Jazz Festival in Central Park.

When home again, remember that earlier this week, the City of Naperville sent news releases about watering new trees in the parkway and recently treated ash trees.  A guide for summer water safety is also featured with Related Stories. Thanks for reading.
